Truth: Wedding decorations are all about creativity. The first thing you want to do is to create an atmosphere that will allow the guests to understand and get into the theme of the wedding. Second, you want to impress them, leaving footprints of your wedding day into their memories. Third, you want to your decorations to be as unique as possible.
What couples don’t know is there are dos and don’ts when it comes to putting up wedding decorations. Here are some of them.
First, follow the guidelines of the venue. Yes, you usually have free will on what you can do with your decors, but you should also be mindful that this freedom is very limited. Unless you’re having your wedding in your yard, farm, or ranch, you’re subject to the rules and regulations of the venue.
If the wedding is going to be at church, expect to not place or touch anything at the altar. If it’s going to be a beach wedding, you may not be free to scatter anything into the informal aisle or path unless you’re willing to put something that can filter the flowers, for example.
Second, stick with something simple. Start with the basics when it comes to wedding decors. The last thing you want to happen is to transform the wedding venue, whether it’s going to be the ceremony venue or the reception area, into a cluttered space. Also keep this in mind when you are choosing your wedding flowers as well.
Third, use your theme as your guide when choosing the wedding decorations. That will save you time since you already have inkling on what you’re going to purchase. You can cut back on the expenses too because you have to get only those that you need. In fact, you can conveniently rent or borrow them from friends and family.
Fourth, know your guests. Some of the wedding attendees can be very sensitive, and they can easily associate the decorations to their culture, heritage, or history. For instance, if you’re having Irish guests, you may want to infuse green since it’s their trademark color. You may want to avoid using sari as decorations unless it’s going to be an Indian wedding. A sari is a common material worn by the Indians.
Fifth, make sure you opt for something that’s easy to put away. Some of you may just hire someone who’s going to assemble and dismantle the wedding decors, but you may want to make their jobs lighter by opting for pieces that are convenient to store or even throw away.
Many couples thought that they don’t need to have their wedding decorations taken. The wedding photographer can already capture them as he takes snapshots of guests and the entourage. However, you should not take the decors for granted, especially if you work hard on them. Make sure the wedding
